I don't want to go to a community college because I live in California and its pretty much impossible to get all your classes now I want to transfer form a state college. I would like to transfer to UCLA so I'll probably start at a state college in la as well, possibly long beach. Is this possible? Is it a good idea? Is it better or worse than cc? Thanks!

CSU to UCLA transfer acceptance rate: 9%
CC to UCLA transfer acceptance rate: 30%

So no, its a horrible idea to go to a CSU with the intention of transferring to UCLA.

Ok thanks man. And I’m assuming its also more difficult to go from a csu to USC?

usc is a private school. my guess is that they don’t care. thats just a guess though

Last year, 10 people were admitted from CSU’s. So, it’s possible, but it’s much easier to go the CCC route. I don’t think it’s a good idea if your main goal is UCLA, but you never know you might like the CSU/state school you end up at.

CSU’s also have a HORRIBLE problem with being able to get the students all the classes they need, not just community colleges…
