Can I use the erasable pens (from papermate) on the Free response section for Eng Lang and APUSH, or do I have to use non-erasable pens?

Is there specific requirement from the college board?

Thanks.

I’m interested in knowing too…

I did, I just used black. It never said not to, and there was specific on ballpoint blue but not black. I did use erasable black and it helped a lot since it felt like a pencil and I did not worry so much about mistakes.

“It never said not to”

hahah that’s the attitude. :D

This is like my “wearing a hat” question, what some people deemed a “■■■■■■■■ question”

however, lol, you have every right to ask that question, just like I asked mine =P

the answer is : i have no idea

though i don’t think it’s specifically prohibited, i wouldn’t recommend that you do.
one of reasons pen is required for the essay is that pencil can get really messy and hard to read after erasing and rewriting multiple times. an erasable pen would have this same effect, especially considering the ones i’ve used don’t erase very well at all.
your score won’t go down if you have lots of arrows, carats, or even whole paragraphs blocked out in your essay. the readers understand that you may need to make some changes, and it’s better that you make your essay clear and not eraser-smudged instead of making it look neat with no visible editing.

I used an erasable pen for APUSH last year. I wouldn’t recommend it because it smudged a lot…

you probably could, but isn’t there a general rule that anything you cross out is not looked at…that might be only like a mathematics rule though. not positive…

no, that’s a rule for all ap exams.
i mean, they can look at what you crossed out if they really want, but they’re not allowed to use it in grading your essay or hold it against you. i would imagine after reading hundreds and hundreds of essays they readers aren’t going to bother reading anything they don’t have to anyway.

Well, I’m more confused. I guess I’ll just bring some erasable pens and regular pens just in case.
