can i use the same essay topic?

i have some questions.
I already have written one common application essay.
It was about a person who had a significant influence on me.
and now, i am trying to write another one, but can it be the same topic?
i mean i want to a different essay but the same topic.
Also, Is that gonna be okay if i write like i live with a girl who hates me, and because of her and because i kinda competed with her, i could accomplish something. so basically i am saying that my motivation was my hatred towards her.
something like that. does that still count as a person who had an influence on me?
isnt that gonna be weird?
and how many common essays should i write?

Frankly, I think your interpretation of the essay topic is not in the spirit of the question. Generally the straightforward essay – one in which you talk about someone you admire and respect, who was proactive in your life, who affected how you approached some aspect of your studies/activities/etc. would (I think) lead to an essay that’s less risky and more on topic.

You can write your essays about anything you like. Will writing 2 on the same topic be a good idea? Maybe not. Essays give you the opportunity to show adcoms as much about you as possible, so having some variety in showing different aspects of your life is usually desired.

While this is a person who influenced you, it may not be putting you in a very positive light if your only motivation was hatred.

You need to write as many essays as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the schools you’re applying to.

Thank you so much! I had no idea how to approach to the topics.
Everyone who i asked told me to just write and eventually i would get it.
I wont use that topic.

Also, when I write an essay for a person who influenced on me, do I need to be extremely specific?
I just kinda wrote some incident between that person and me, and That person had me changed to have self esteem and stuff. I think I more fucused on how I have changed through that incident with that person than why I respect her.
I think i am totally screwed.
