I have a strong leadership position in a club at school.I go to a Catholic school, but I'm Muslim. We have a Muslim Student Association club that does various activities around campus several times a year. But I know you're never supposed to talk about religion and politics. However, I am just going to talk about the bridge MSA makes with Catholicism and Islam and what I am done in that club to show leadership.
Thanks

I have other activities also, but I feel like this is my strongest one.

It sounds like you plan to specifically focus on your accomplishments with this organization, focusing on the leadership and communication skills you gained there. In that case I think it is fine, as long as you don’t advocate for or against any particular religion.

Actually, being a part of religious club is of no offense in your app. Just make sure you don’t criticize other religions.

That’s an interesting topic. I don’t think the subject of religion is as taboo as how you discuss it. Club activities and leadership can be presented respectfully, but taking a preachy, pushy, or judgmental stance could be inappropriate.
(On the other hand, the topic of politics is terrifying at the moment!!)

I think the essay topic is fine and your situation is pretty unique. To be sure, have a trusted teacher, guidance counselor, someone who is objective, proofread it to be sure what you say is interpreted correctly.

Remember, the idea is to let adcoms see your strengths that they find relevant to their college. Show, not just tell. Could be interesting. Good luck.

Thanks everyone! I’m going to go ahead and start with this essay.
