Can multiple test sittings actually hurt you??

My niece has taken the ACT 3 times. The first time she had strep throat and scored 23. The second time she scored 25. The third time (with a little bit of prep) scored 28. She wants to apply to Georgetown but thinks that all of these test sittings will actually hurt her since the first 2 scores were so low and the third one not so great either. First attempt on SAT she got 1400 (700 CR & 700 M). Please let me know your thoughts. She asked me and I didn't know. Thanks in advance!

We went to a Georgetown info session and they told us that they do not accept Score Choice for the SAT. So, she will have to report all her SAT scores (or her ACT scores).

Given that she did well on her SAT, she might want to leave well enough alone unless she feels confident more prep will significantly raise her score. Her 1400 gets her in the Georgetown ballpark.

She might want to invest her remaining time in those 3 “highly recommended” SAT subject tests.

It doesn’t matter. My kid got a great score and she was wait listed. 1500/2290.

I completely understand that there are no guarantees ever. But, since Georgetown makes you report ALL test sittings, are the low ACT’s going to be a problem (since they are pretty bad for Georgetown standards) even if the SAT is “within range”? And yes, I agree about the SAT II’s - she is taking them in May. Also she is applying to the Health Sciences School (I’m not sure the official name of it) if that matters.
