Good ACT/ Terrible SAT for SFS

So I took the SAT at the beginning of my junior year and pretty much did God awful. I usually score pretty well on tests so I was surprised. I really hardly studied at all because I just wanted to see how I would do the first time. After taking it though I wasnt a big fan. I’m taking the ACT this Saturday and it seems worlds easier to me and I’ve been consistently scoring 30+ so I’m hoping by after taking it twice to have a score somewhere from 32-34. However, I just saw that Georgetown requires you to submit test scores from all sittings? I had no idea or I would’ve taken the SAT much more seriously the first time. If I feel like I get an adequate ACT score should I still try to take the SAT again to compensate for the first score or will they put more emphasis on the ACT score?

You can choose to submit either the SAT or ACT, so if you do well on the ACT, you should just submit that. If not, then study harder for the SAT so you can improve your score. Among other reasons, schools ask for all sittings to understand which students took the test 4+ times and are trying to game the test.

From the Georgetown website:
Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT, and SAT II Subject Tests.

So, yes, you will need to submit your low SAT score. However, admissions will also take into account your ACT score which you anticipate will be higher. Good luck!
