I’ve worked on two research projects as a high schooler at Stanford, both in different depts. Both of my mentors are professors, and I worked very closely with them. Stanford, however, says that they will only accept a maximum of 1 additional Letter of Rec. How could my second mentor support my application? Would it be allowed if they dropped off a short note of support in-person at the admissions office? Is there a better way to do this?
Check if your high school counselor allows what are known as “in-house recommendations”. This is where you can have other recommendations sent to your counselor who when summarizes them on the counselor letter that is sent to all colleges. This is how my son handled additional recommendations from his research mentors and coach for his primary activity.
