I wasn't connected to my university internet, wasn't using a computer provided by my university. I was at my boyfriend's house and he downloaded a game (illegally). I was wondering my university can find out that he went on an illegal site and downloaded a game? I don't think they can trace that but I was logged into my Northeastern email at that time. Also, if they do find out, what are the consequences? Do I have to pay for the game?

just don’t worry

They can unless you went through 7 proxies.

But seriously, lol no.

Nah, you just get a huge fine.

Don’t worry about it. Unless you like crash the network somehow by doing something, I don’t think they generally care that he illegally downloaded something.

There are probably a lot of people at the same college doing much worse things than that. I doubt they’d have time to get everyone in trouble for it.
