Can my TAG get denied despite meeting all requirements?

I want to TAG UCI and I’ll meet all the requirements but I’ll be exactly at a 3.4 GPA. I know I can keep my 3.4 because my classes actually get easier next year and I finally got my parents to get me help for ADHD.

I’m just really nervous that my TAG will get denied because I have barely passed the required GPA. I’ll have all the courses complete, good standing in all colleges attended and I’ll be on schedule to complete my requirements.

I didn’t tag UCI but I got in anyway. You need to maintain a 3.40 gpa by the end of summer 2016 and maintain that tthrough fall 2016 and spring 2017. So the question is what was your gpa last year before fall?

there is no line in the TAG agreement that says “must exceed at least slightly the following requirements”. They list what you must do, you satisfy all the rules and they in turn guarantee admission.

@JC2017 I will have between a 3.1-3.3. Ever since I have gotten help for problems I have gotten no score lower then a 94% but unfortunately it was too late into the semester for me to significantly raise my grades, if I started earlier my combined UC GPA could have been a 3.6 but what ifs don’t matter. I need to get a 4.0 this semester to raise my GPA to a 3.4 and then have to maintain it until I transfer. Since it will be so borderline I am a little worried

This is what it says.
Earn a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2016 term for fall 2017 admission and will maintain a 3.4 GPA in all UC transferable coursework for all subsequent terms.

So basically if you don’t have the required GPA before you submit the tag (which was due in Sept 2016) you will not get it. You may have to wait for next semester if you’re set on UCI… But perhaps you can write an appeal and explain your situation.

@JC2017 I am currently a first year student at my CC so I will be applying for TAG this September. But thank you for confirming my GPA questions

Oh man then you’re fine! Keep up that GPA though.
