Hey guys this is my first time posting here so sorry if I’m breaking any rules I just had a quick question about GPA requirements for TAG. When I applied I had a 3.57 but after this fall semester I’m at a 3.39 so I was wondering whether my TAG would be rejected or not. On my TAG UC response it says “Maintain an overall minimum 3.4 GPA in all UC-transferable course work by the end of fall 2016 and maintain a minimum overall 3.4 GPA through the end of spring 2017” but on the tag matrix and UCI website it says “Earn a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2016 term for fall 2017 admission and will maintain a 3.4 GPA in all UC transferable coursework for all subsequent terms”. So I don’t know which is correct and am really stressing out. I would really appreciate it if someone can help me clear this up.
Honestly, I know that when it comes to TAG, they can be very picky (I had a friend rejected from UCSC TAG over a 0.01 difference in their GPA). If it says on your TAG response that you need a 3.4 by Fall 2016 and need to maintain it for all subsequent terms, I would assume that you need a 3.4 overall. The Matrix basically worded it a little differently, but since they mentioned “all subsequent terms”, that means Fall 2016 included. My assumption would be that they will reject it (sorry to say, but I want to be honest with you), but don’t be pessimistic, you could still be accepted in the general application! Good luck!
