Hello, I have an SAT score of 1840 and all the universities I want to apply to do not require SAT 2 scorers. Will they in any way help in scholarships/financial aid? I don’t want to waste my time for nothing.
Thanks.

While the SAT II may not help you with scholarship opportunities they may help you place out of some beginner courses, saving you money in courses
Oh okay, thanks
Not with scholarships, but could help getting admissions to schools that give good scholarships.
It really depends. For top scholarships that are very competitive, anything that may differentiate the top candidates may help. We regreted not submitting the SAT2 scores to a school that does not require them for admission when my D did not receive the larger scholarship from it. Nevertheless, for OP’s situation, I don’t think it matters at all.
Did you check afterward to see if they would have upped the scholarship with that info?
Even though schools do not request AP scores or SAT2 scores, I think that if they see 5’s or 800’s they get interested. Maybe they put you in for merit consideration. maybe that sways you to the admit or discussion pile instead of rejection. Who knows! But always put your best foot forward and send in what makes you a strong applicant.
@Erin’s Dad Unfortunately, there is no way to find out and it would not help after the game anyway. The $15 score report cost may be a well spent if we thought it through. Having 800s in SAT2 but not submitted may be more a waste. She decided not to attend that school anyway.
@billcsho then you are conjecturing that it MIGHT have made a difference. I don’t disagree but real data would help to outline that. I had my Ds send both SATs and ACTs because the score were comparable (backing each other up). I realize now that was probably a waste of $.
The whole idea is the maximize the chance. Perhaps it would not help, but definitely it would not hurt (other than my pocket).
Hmm I guess writing SAT II wouldn’t kill me. Thanks for the reply guys…
