Should I write SAT subject tests?

Guys, I called all the universities I plan to apply to and they all said they don’t require SAT subject tests to determine financial aid grants or admission. But I have a few other friends who are applying to 2 or 3 of the same unis as me and their writing SAT 2s. Idk why I’m scared though, since they said they don’t use it. I want to know from students that currently attend in the following schools, what were your test scores and did you submit SAT 2 scores, do you think they helped?

Purdue, Minnesota, Pittsburgh
Uni of Iowa, Virginia Tech
Marquette

I got an 1840 Sat on my second and last try 520 CR 680 M and 640
I’m an International student
yet to write TOEFL
My high school has an A Level curriculum and I Got an A in Math and Physics and a C in Chemistry this year but I know I can get predicted grades of at least A A and B

All six of those are public universities with little to no financial aid for internationals, regardless of your SAT2s. They clearly state those scores are NOT needed for admission but may boost your chances because your SAT total isn’t super.

Your real issue will be to find a single one of them affordable. My daughter declined a Purdue offer due to the fact they offered us nothing.

@T26E4 Oh thanks, may I know where your daughter decided to go, how much aid she got and her scores? If that’s not too much to ask

My D did not submit SAT2 to Purdue but was offered presidential scholarship last year. She attends another school at the end. We did regret not sending her SAT2 (both 800) scores as she did not receive the top scholarship there.
For OP, you should focus more on SAT1 for now as it is not in the range for admission. It does not help even if you get 800s in SAT2 even for schools that require it while your SAT1 is out of the range.
