<p>I was just wondering if you could use writing contests or any other sort of contest that gave out scholarships to their winners as a special award/accomplishment on the common app. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>I don't care what other people say about the contest, but the moment I got Coke Scholars semifinalist i wasted no time in putting it on my common app!</p>
<p>I also listed a nat'l essay contest award on my apps (wasn't the coke one though) - I don't know if this is what you're "supposed" to do, but I don't see how it would hurt, and I would suggest doing it :-)</p>
