<p>Ok so I applied regular decision and I'd like to know how competitive I am.</p>

<p>ACT: 32, in one sitting
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.97
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 9 out of 347, but it will be higher when it's weighted. I'll probably be 2 or 3/347
AP: World History(5), English Comp(5), US History(5)
Senior Year Course Load: AP Biology, AP Physics C, AP Calculus BC, AP Lit, Newspaper, Wind Ensemble, Law</p>

<p>AP Scholar, MSBOA Superior Rankings for 6 years straight, School Social Studies Award, Outstanding Band Student, Boys' State Nominee from my school, Scholar Athlete Award</p>

<p>Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Swimming for 3 years (Senior Captain), Newspaper for 2 years (Project Manager and Editor), NHS (Treasurer), Marching Band for 3 years (Section Leader), Quiz Bowl for 4 years (Captain), Pit Band for 3 years, playing piano for 11 years.</p>

<p>Job/Work Experience: Filming football games
Volunteer/Community service: Loads of stuff with NHS, tutoring, blood drives, K9 shelter, etc.</p>

<p>My essays were very strong. I didn't tout my accomplishments, I simply highlighted the type of person I am. For the Northwestern Statement I straight up told them that it's my number one choice and it's the school I will go to if I get the opportunity. I also did a bit of name-dropping, my cousin is a successful alumnus from the University and I've talked to him a lot about it.</p>

<p>I asked my English teacher/NHS Adviser for a recommendation; he let me read it and it was absolutely stellar. </p>

<p>I have an interview scheduled in January which I think will go well. I've expressed a lot of interest. I've gone to an information session near my house and I've traveled to Evanston to check it out and take a tour. I absolutely love it.</p>

<p>That is a VERY impressive resume. All parts of your app (grades, ECs, community) are very thorough. Also, they know when you go to an info session, so that shows your interest too. You have a 90/10 chance of getting in. (I say that because even the best and brightest of students are rejected…nothing wrong with them at all).

<p>As for most candidates who request a chance, you seem to be a perfectly competitive candidate, so you should apply. It is often a roll of the dice beyond that…</p>
