Low income family( hopefully a lot of need-based scholarships)

ACT: 20 (Also re-taking in December)
I’m applying to:
UC Irvine
UC Berkely

Penn state- main campus
Florida State
University of san francisco

Biola
Washington State
I know there’s alot, but I couldn’t narrow down. If it comes down to it I would attend any one of these campuses no problem Thanks in advance! My GPA is going to go up to about a 3.5/3.6 since I’m re-taking classes.
Tbh your strength of classes seems very minimal. Additionally, those standardized test scores are too low. Even Penn State is a reach with those scores I believe. NYU is out and many are extreme reaches.
With a B average right now and test scores below the national average, here are some schools you can cut from your list right away.
UC Berkeley
USC
UCLA
Tulane
Rutgers
University of Washington
NYU
Stanford
Penn state - main campus
I don’t know enough about the others to give you an informed opinion, but these schools - especially Berkeley and Stanford (!) - have their pick of students with near-perfect GPAs and test scores.
Do you live in California? Then Penn State wouldn’t give you any money even if you could get in. If you don’t live in California, ditto for the UCs. You’re looking at the wrong schools.
@cf9882 You’re an out-of-state applicant to a public university. Pennsylvania taxpayers don’t want to foot the bill for a California student’s financial aid, just as CA taxpayers don’t want to pay for a Pennsylvania applicant’s $55,000/year tuition at the UCs. Hence no money.
