After the oct. SAT I don't have any hope for Brown and Northwestern since my SAT.... how about others?

Thank you for chance me !! I will chance back!

chance me back, and from what i know you are a cood candiate for northwestern. not a shoo-in but you have a good shot. i think wisconsin is easy get in as is wake forest. those are all that i know from waht you showed me

Brown, University of Michigan, and Northwestern are more difficult to get into than the other schools on your list. Try taking the ACT’s. I think you have a good chance at the rest.
Chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1228424-chance-anxious-panic-stricken-senior.html

I would agree, try taking the ACT. Seeing that you are science and math-oriented, it would be a better fit for you. However, you have low chances at Brown and NW, maybe Barnard unless you score higher on the SAT or ACT. Everything else should either be matches or safeties.

I’d suggest taking the SAT again or the ACT, because your reading score is quite a ways below the average for your top schools. If you can do that, your chances are good. However, an international who requires a lot of financial aid has a lesser chance than an international who does not require aid.

No Finical Aid needed so…dont worry about that

I would suggest retaking tests as well. I think your tests are your big downpoint, otherwise your app is very good. Especially considering your orm, its going to be especially dificult on you. I think you stand a decent shot at all of your schools, and there’s definitely a nice balance among your safeties/matches/reaches. Best of luck with your college endeavors!

Definitely retake the tests, except for the Math I subject test. Boosting your scores may greatly increase your chances of admission. Given your record, is it safe to say that the language barrier is affecting your CR and W scores? They just don’t make sense any other way in the context of your overall performance. If that is the case, I would definitely concentrate on grammar and vocabulary.

Also, it is difficult to judge your ECs. We know you are in a number of clubs, but have no idea what your involvement in them is. Could you elaborate a bit?

I say you have a good chance but I would study and retake some of your tests. Your GPA is okay and your ECs are very good. Chance me back

Just wanted to say my D loves Wofford-her roommate is from China and they have a host family for her as well as an international club

I would argue that you don’t necessarily do poorly on SAT because you are math and science oriented. I got:
1690 in 7th grade
1860 in 9th grade
2220 in 11th grade
2280 in 12th grade (Oct 1)
780 Bio M in 10th grade
790 US History in 10th grade
770 Math II in 11th grade

By that logic I would get a 36 ACT since my scores are comparable to somewhere at the upper end between a 34 and 35, which would round to a 35.

i really like Wofford!!!@schlagowsky

THANKS EVERYONE!
I decided to try ACT December and maybe it will work for me…

Ivy leagues are always a reach for anyone, but you have a good shot at Brown. Your reading SAT is a little low but I’m assuming English is not your first language which should make up for that. Take the ACT, it’s a much better test than the SAT. Good Luck!

Decent chance at Brown and Northwestern. Great chances at the rest of the schools. Good Luck!
