Can someone explain Blue and Gold?

Hi guys, here's my tuition estimate before Blue and Gold Plan.

Cost:
Registration Fees & Health Insurance +$12,743
Books and Supplies + $1,509
Living Expenses + $16,215
Total Cost =$30,467

Gift aid:
Federal Pell Grant +$5,550
Scholarship Recognition Award +$4,593
Cal Grant + $11,124
Total aid: =$21,267

Net UCLA cost:
UCLA Costs $30,467
Gift Aid -$21,267
Total Net Cost = $9,200

Now the website also states that i am eligible for Blue and Gold scholarship. I am wondering if Blue and Gold is the same as Cal grant, since the aid amount is the same. If the two are different, does it mean i essentially get a free ride with the Blue and Gold program?

Thanks

The Cal Grant is a specific grant. The Blue and Gold program is a general promise to cover all tuition and fees (not housing).

B&G only really comes into play when your grats are below 11k.
