Blue and Gold?

Can someone explain what the Blue and Gold financial aid is? How do you qualify?

If I get it at one school, am I supposed to get it at every school that I was admitted to? I ask because UCLA seems to have given me about 10k through Blue and Gold, but none of the other schools mentioned it on my financial aid estimate.

If you qualify for it at one UC, you qualify for it at every UC you’ve been admitted to. The link has more info.

Blue and Gold just ensures that the minimum cost of tuition is covered if you meet the requirements. So if tuition is $15,000 (making up numbers), and you get a Cal Grant, Pell grant, and XYZ scholarship that all total $13,000, then Blue and Gold will cover the $2,000 difference. If other aid only covered $5000, then Blue and Gold will cover $10,000. Conversely if other aid totaled $15,000 or more, then your Blue and Gold is $0.

Does anyone know then why it appears on my UCLA financial aid letter, but not for other UCs?

I just told you why. Other UCs are likely fully covering your tuition with other types of grants and scholarships, so blue and Gold isn’t listed because it is $0.
