Is UCLA going to COST ME?

So I got a Cal Grant A which is 11k in itself, but I was wondering if the blue and gold opportunity plan will cover the remainder of my costs like housing since the cal grant will already cover my tuition. I can afford to pay 4k a year by working.

BUT also, if the B and G opportunity plan doesn't cover housing can I use my cal grant for housing and have the plan pay for my tuition or does UCLA not allow that?

Thanks

Blue and Gold only covers tuition related expenses and is a broad, umbrella term.

Your Cal Grant A is, effectively, part of the “Blue and Gold Plan”

But would UCLA, under the plan, add on another, say 14k, onto my grant if it’s need-based?

If you want to go into the dorms and stuff, then yes you’re going to have to pay. My EFC is 0, and even with that i still had to take like 6-7k in loans. although, if you’re frugal and careful, you can make due with much less, as well as do work study.

I think UCLA gives full rides, including R&B, to the top 1.5% of applicants. However, this is only for freshman, and i think you have to apply for it. Chances are it’s going to cost you for housing. It’s not too bad though.
