Can someone explain Gallatin and GLS compared to CAS?

I'm applying to NYU and I'm wondering how Gallatin, Global Liberal Studies, and the College of Arts and Science compare to each other. I assume CAS is similar to other college's CAS as in it is the basic college that draws most of its students and is more traditional. But what does Gallatin offer? How about the Global Liberal Studies program?

Please be as specific as you can, and if you are in one of these programs, please list some of your own opinions and experiences.

Once I'm in NYU, can I transfer to these other faculties?

and is it harder to get into Gallatin than CAS?

also, does CAS allow study abroad for freshmen?

Gallatin is a very small school that encourages inter-disciplinary study. Students develop their own majors in collaboration with advisors. They draw on faculty/departments across NYU as well as within Gallatin. Applicants need to outline their inter-connected fields of study and their fit with the Gallatin approach.

I’ve eliminated GLS from consideration and am now just trying to figure out about Gallatin. I found an already established thread so forget this one and route all replies to:
