Hello everyone, I’m looking to transfer to a one of these schools and would like your opinions if that’s at all possible. I’m considering Cornell Cals (gt option), University of Southern California, UNC chapel Hill, and UVA (instate). I like my current school but feel like it’s lacking in some of the things that i’m interested in, like start ups and other business ventures, possibly med school (who really knows though). Also, i miss the more urban environment that some of these schools offer.
College stuff
GPA: 4.0
Major: Biology Major w/ Econ minor
EC’s:
Ultra running Club
Scuba Diving Club
Some Club Sports
*** I know that i’m lacking here, but it is what it is
High School Stats
GPA: 4.1x can’t really remember
SAT: 1380/1600
Ec’s: too much to elaborate on, but the basics apply here like varsity sports, DECA, etc. etc.
Just looking for some advice and thank you in advance!
Where are you now that UVa - much less Cornell!- seems ‘urban’ to you?! And (as everybody else who hangs around here will tell you), for med school as long as you are in even a modestly accredited school, it’s your grades and MCAT that will matter- Cornell tends to the grade deflationary side, so you would want to be confident in your ability to get top marks in that environment.
@collegemom3717 I know that UVa and Cornell are far from urban campuses, but compared to Blacksburg they seem much more “urban” (as a relative term). Also, that’s why I am interested in both USC and UNC chapel hill.
LOL- Blacksburg and Charlottesville are about the same population, and Ithaca is both a lot smaller and farther from any sort of town center (at least UVa is in Charlottesville- Cornell is outside Ithaca).
You have a guaranteed spot at Cornell. Do the rest of your apps and then decide when you have an actual choice.
