How important are the lectures for this 1.5 credit course? Is attendance mandatory? How is the workload/difficulty?

When I took it, the lectures were packed at the beginning of the semester and virtually empty by the end of the semester. The work is pretty easy if you’re good with computers. A lot of it just involves following steps from a textbook. However, that means your course grade is almost entirely determined by the final exam, which can make the course frustrating for some.

is attendance mandatory?

Yes, unless of course you want a zero for attendence, which is worth something like 5% of your grade. It could make a difference between an A- and B+.

well right now i have a time conflict over the last 1 hour of the class. would i be able to pull it off if i just showed for the 30 minutes? or are lectures kind of small?

attendance is not mandatory and i cannot remember it ever being taken. if you go, you will simply sit there and browse the internet since you sit at a computer and the professor lectures. that is what everyone does, which is also why many people don’t bother going. you will be able to skip without it creating problems, i guarantee it.

It is taken. A sign in sheet goes around every class. Guess you didn’t go to class much?

If you have a time conflict get some student to swap sections with you.
