Can someone help me break down this question for Columbia?

What aspect of the Columbia community, outside of the classroom, would you most want to impact and why? (150 words or less)

I don’t understand how to approach the above question. Would someone kindly explain it?

Columbia is more than its academics. There are many communities within Columbia and which Columbia touches. Which of those do you wish to affect and why?

I’m have trouble with this question too

CU is wondering how well you get along with the playmates in the sandbox. If you’re having difficulty, you might want to reflect how much ability or lack thereof, you have to influence or affect others around you (in various sub-groups or communities that you’re a part of).

If you find yourself not really in a community or wondering how you’ve affected them, then that bodes very poorly for your chances at schools like CU, to be blunt. They’re not looking for hermits.

Let me amend my earlier statement: it seems CU wants to know what of its communities you wish to affect/be involved with and why. Obviously, you can draw from the communities you’ve been involved with as a HS student
