I AM APPLYING TO COLUMBIA ED AND I STILL HAVEN'T DONE MY TWO SHORT ANSWERS (WHAT DO YOU FIND MOST APPEALING ABOUT CU, AND MY MOST IMP. COMMITMENT).. I DONT KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, whether I should list all the things I like about CU or pick out one thing and expand on it? I also need help with my short answer about my EC, which is going to be on Amnesty International.. how should I approach it? Is the application due tomorrow at 11:59 PM, right?

also does anyone know the ED accptance rate of C.C? Does legacy play a big role? let me know, thanks so much.. and please help me!!

Seems like ED at Columbia isn't the best option for you (no offense). If you don't even know the admit rate, or why you WANT to go to CC, then I think you should hold off for RD. Just my opinion, please don't hate me.

haha no, I know that stuf, but I just don't know how to write it out.. there are a lot of reasons why I want to go to CU.. core, diversity, varsity theatre, NYC, school, good education, stepping stone, and what not..

If I were you, I would not talk about the fact that Columbia is located in NY nor that it's offers good Ivy education ...

core: don't talk about this unless you can make a subtle point about its value, for you specifically
diversity: same goes here. it's easy to be totally flippant or say something really trite
varsity show: (not "varsity theater") this will help show that you know the school's culture
NYC: don't bother. the adcom will think "what makes us different from NYU or Fordham or CUNY?"
school: what does this even mean?
good education: lots of places to get a good education. why columbia specifically?
stepping stone: dangerous turf. that's like telling a girl you want to date her because you'll be seen in public and that will help you get an even hotter girlfriend.

think through it a little more.
