I am currently a junior in high school, and am ranked 2/~300 in my class. I am an all around student, no too crazy, but still I do track, clubs, etc. SAT or ACT scores havnt came back to me yet. Anyway, I want to get into the I-banking/hedge funds/equity career field, even tho I am fully aware of the insane hours they require. I am starting to narrow down my college admission lists, and I know that if I get into Penn, I will have a good future, with job recruitment, MBA, and so on. As of now, Id like to get into 1. Penn, 2. NYU, 3. Cornell, then ill apply to like Villanova and SUNY Binghamton as well. What I am asking is am I looking at the right schools (obviously Penn is top) as far as getting a top job, as prestige seems to be a big factor in recruitment out of undergrad right? Second, should I be majoring in finance or in economics?

bump.......

I'm in Stern, and if you're interested in finance, its definitely your best choice after Wharton. Stern is almost on equal grounds to Wharton also (average SAT score was 1443/1600 this year, which is better than most ivies!). Whereas Wharton still has a few more on campus recruiters, its incredibly easy to get internships here (and find housing) due to your location. The professors here are ridiculously good too, and we have several who won noble prizes in economics. We are ranked number 2 in finance too, so from a statistical standpoint Stern is sexy.
