Hello CC im entering 10th grade this year and i have to take the PSAT,and i dont know how serious i should take it. Should i study for it if im taking it for 10th grade? And also, when do you guys think is a good time to start studying for the SATS and SAT IIs due to the fact I dont want to have to cram all the exams into one time peroid. Please and thank you!

Hi,

As for your PSAT, you can attempt to study, but you don't have to take it that seriously since it doesn't count. You can study as much as you want, but the added stress isn't worth it because it wouldn't count in sophomore year. However, knowing that studying pays off is the benefit of studying for the PSAT after you get your results.

The best time, to study for the SATs, and most likely time there would be time is the summer after your sophomore year. It all depends on your timing. Obviously, the earlier, the better. It really doesn't matter when you take it.

Don't study at all for 10th grade PSAT...this will help you understand where you are before studying. after you get the results, you can see where you need work. no one sees the 10th grade PSAT, it's only purpose is to help you prepare for the 11th grade PSAT and the SAT.

They don't count for people 10th grade and under, kinglion.

So when do you guys think i should start studying for the SAT and SAT IIs? Because i dont want to cram them all into one year.

iTS TIME TO B U M P. ANY HELP ?

You started "studying" for these tests in first grade. Just continue to

[]Attend ALL classes.
[]Do all your homework.
[]Read, read, read.
[]Do crossword puzzles -- the hard one.
[]Read some more.
[]Spell check and grammar check everything you write. "cute" spellings for IMs, blogs etc, work against learning proper English.
[]Participate in all classes.
[]Whenever you have a question, research an answer.
[]If you don't know what a word means, look it up, and learn it.
[]Did I mention read?
[]Start doing a practice test every month or so junior year, in preparation for the NMSQT and the spring SAT.
[]If you're not looking up any words, you're not reading the right stuff.

You should study a little for the PSAT, but don't overdo it. Sure, it doesn't count, but you can send out your score to receive information from colleges..and if your score is good, you will receive info from prestigious universities
