Okay well I plan to either major in Economics, Management Science, or Joint Econ/Math.

I want to be located close to the price center and the beach.
I want easy ge’s…meaning which schools have the least amount of writing and english?

Right Now I’m thinking this, but does what I stated above match with how I ranked the colleges.

Warren? It's far away from the price center and (besides Sixth) probably farthest away from the La Jolla shores--it does have very easy GEs, though.

Muir is the closest to the beach and fairly close to the center of campus and Price Center (Revelle is probably closer). Also, it has one of the easiest GE requirements including only two writing classes: MUIR40 and MUIR50.

I've heard Muir 40 and 50 are toughies, though. Not sure how Warren's writing series is, but their GEs are pretty easy too, and they're good for minors. Warren has really nice dorms too, but the location isn't great unless you're doing engineering, in which case you'd be super close to the engineering buildings. Muir has the best location and the easiest GEs, but their dorms are pretty ugly. I would put Muir or Warren as #1, unless you're REALLY adamant about location, then I would definitely put Muir as #1. As for Marshall, I've heard bad things about their Dimensions of Culture class, and the college in general (so I've heard) is kind of nothing special.

Warren isn't far away from the Price Center; it's the closest (it IS the farthest away from the beach however). Revelle is the farthest away from the price center. Muir's location is the best however as it is sandwiched in between Marshall, Revelle, and the Price Center.

Warren is actually kinda close to the Price Center, and i guess it's good for engineers cuz the buildings are so close..basically it's just across the street from the res halls

Yeah I forgot about ERC since it moved, and it's the one college I've never had to walk to. There used to be a sign outside the medical center that said "Eleanor Roosevelt College", so I keep on thinking that it's around there. ERC is really far in that case, but I've driven around it, and it looks really nice.

**FACT: **Muir is the 1st choice college for more incoming freshmen than any other college.

FACT: Muir is closest to the beach. The trail to Black's (one of the best beach breaks in the country) is right across the street from Muir's freshman dorms.

b FACT:** Muir is the best. You should pick it. Most flexible/easy GE's, good location, coolest people (not all engineering nerds like Warren). As long as you can deal with Muir's dorms, (the rooms aren't small, but they're plain) it's a no-brainer.

I mean, it's up to you to gather the facts and determine for yourself as to which college seems to be the "best" for you, but from my wonderfully biased view, Muir is the best. Like ckpcw (and Oyama) said, it's the closest to the beach, has the fewest and most flexible GEs, the most chillax people, etc. The bad of Muir may be the aesthetically unpleasing dorms, but they're not too bad.

I am not as familiar with the other colleges as I am with Muir, but if you must choose from among the rest, Warren or Thurgood Marshall seem to be the second best to Muir. Forgot which was which, but one of them had a balance between easy GEs and nice dorms. Anyways. It all depends on what's important to you, but from what I see, your list seems pretty accurate--with Muir as #1. ;)

P.S. You might want to put Revelle even LOWER down. I heard horror stories about their GEs! That it's something to be proud of if you pass all their GEs! Sixth is isolated and off in some random space. I haven't heard too much about ERC, but it seems better than Revelle and Sixth at least!

Yah thanks for you guy's opinions of the colleges. I'm going to keep that list. I might end up switching revelle and erc, but I'm definately keeping my top 2 the same.

People need to give Sixth more credit, though. They don't deserve the final spot on peoples lists. Easy GEs, close to center of campus. Only negative is 'Camp Snoopy,' their dorms. Some even like those, though!

Warren and ERC should be at the top of everyones lists though. Toss Muir in there if you don't care about your dorms.

EDIT: Oh, and Hobo, i thought you swore off CC ;)

Revelle's the most sprited college. (Won unolympics twice in a row, unolympics is a competition between the 6 colleges in ucsd, Revelle's dominating) Revelle also requires many GEs, but it is definitely not a nerd zone. Just for your info, Revelle and Muir are big time rivals hehe. Pick Revelle if you are lazy like me. If I have work to do, I get things done. But if I am too free, I tend to waste time, get behind people. But I think all colleges in UCSD are very good.

FACT: Revelle was the first college in UCSD!
FACT: Roger Revelle was the first to predict global warming.
FACT: Gym, price center, library are fairly close to Revelle.
FACT: Muir is very close to Revelle. So everything Muir has near, we got it also!

simsangwon88 -- would be revelle be a good choice if I want to cover the med school requirements. I want to major in econ/math, but I want the option of going to medical schools, so would revelle's ge's cover the requirements?

defintely. Most revelle students are premeds, and ur major is the most popular major in revelle. Revelle gives you the freedom in your major because you take GEs for many areas, giving you flexibility later. With muir, you choose what you want to take. Although that sounds more relaxing, it can hit you hard later. With the average of 3 major changes per student, I wouldn't feel so confident picking my GEs at Muir. (that's just me b/c I'm still considering many majors which is why I chose Revelle) In Revelle, they make you take many GEs (and trust me they are to help you in your future, not to torture you) so later you will have choices. I think Revelle will fit you well. Just keep Revelle in mind, listen to what other people has to say too. But neglect the ones that bash Revelle. Some members here told me Revelle was really nerdy, no social life college. I would disagree 100%. They're probably jealous. Revelle is very spirited and people are very nice and sociable. Visit UCSD sometime, and check out each college urself. Then decide. I almost put Revelle as my last choice. I'm glad I didn't do that.
