Can someone read my financial aid appeal letter?

@thumper1

Sorry if I made it seem that way haha. I am aware that there are a lot of good public universities in my area. Its just that the schools I strongly wanted to attend are, unfortunately, out of state

Returning to my main topic, I have a couple of questions about what I should add into my appeal letter… (I have already gotten rid of information about my family’s lack of expenses to afford certain things)

  1. The director I got into contact with previously informed me that he will be the individual who is going to read my letter. So in the beginning of my appeal letter should I address the letter to him and mention that we have talked on the phone previously?

  2. Should I get rid of specific information because it is being stated in the tax forms I am sending the school?

  3. Should I mention the mortgage thing? Or will that be too much?

Thank you all, and sorry for having so many questions.

And as you are finding…those out of state, expensive schools might be unaffordable.

@thumper1

Sorry to bother you again, you’ve been a really great help to me!

With your feedback, I’ve been deleting a lot of useless information on my appeal letter (Its two very small paragraphs now) and I just have one LAST part that I would like your advice on.

Should I mention the fact that my parents haven’t been able to pay their mortgage for a while and that this is further making my family struggle with finances? And that we can’t sell our home because of the fact that we would not receive any profit at all.

(One of my friends said that this was too much, while my other friend said that this further explains my difficult financial situation and to put it in)

Would this be further unnecessary information?

Thank you so much for your previous replies. Your constant assistance is really helpful!

I think you can mention the housing situation…but make it succinct.
