Can someone read my MIT/Caltech essays please? I think my parents are messing them up

<p>My parents, especially my dad, are so anxious that they are making a extremely large fuss over the essays. He constantly gets angry at me and says that I must never do my essay this way for I will not get in. However, when I write my essays his way, it sounds as if some truths are exaggerated and in general doesn't reflect my true self. Plus they are so stubborn about their ideals that it's more as if I am writing simply because my parents told me to write it...</p>

<p>Will anyone be willing to read my version of MIT and Caltech essays please? I won't be able to get any decent feedback from my parents since they are all focused on something completely different than what I am aiming for.</p>

<p>Oh and another question on the side. Is it bad to mention games as an influence in these essays? Will they think that I am only game oriented even if I explain it as something more than entertainment?</p>

<p>hey, iv sent you a mail, check it out. also, dont let ur parent become a part of ur admissions process please. it just screws things up. they might suggest stuff, but in the end, do what you think is right.
mentioning gaming is okay. being a good gamer proves you are swift minded and persistent (videogaing needs trying till you succeed). but making them think ur life is redeemed my gaming and that the only life you have if that of a virtual non human who works on plasmid power is a dumb move. all the best.
