I am currently a senior in high school. I am from Long Island, New York. I am currently applying to 6 schools, but figured I would apply to a couple reach schools as well. I have a 91 average and got a 1310 on the August 2017 SAT. 670 on reading, 640 on math. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should apply as my reaches? Schools towards the Northeast would be preferred but I’ll take suggestions.
What schools are you currently considering applying to? Also, what are your academic/professional interests?
SUNY Albany, SUNY Oneonta, UMass Amherst, Siena College, Marist College, and Binghamton University although Binghamton can kind of count as a reach. I’m looking to go into business/finance.
Depending on what you can afford (run the NPCs), how about Bentley, Babson, or Fordham?
Given your interest in business, I suggest you look at the following as reach for your stats (you do have a shot at them): Emory University (especially Oxford College option), University of Richmond, College of William and Mary and Wake Forest University. All four have strong undergrad business programs and great job placements. Except for University of Richmond, you will be going to business school after sophomore year. I believe, University of Richmond, you will be applying directly to business school. If you’re willing to go to the west coast, I would also look at Santa Clara University’s business school, where you can apply to their business school directly. It has a strong job placement too. Another one to look at…Indian University (Kelley Business School). When it comes to undergraduate business school, it is critical to look at their job placement. You can google and find the information.
@fivesages OP is looking at the Northeast. Also, U of Richmond does not require you to apply to the business school. You apply once you are in. OP, maybe Villanova could be a reach. Also, Suny Geneseo, which I have heard great things about
