Can someone [who has already paid the admissions deposit] post the orientation dates?

I can't pay the admission deposit or orientation fee for a few months, but I need to know which dates are available.

When you log into registration for orientation, the dates you get are based on if you were accepted for summer or fall semester, and what major/special programs you might belong to. They are also first come - so as they fill up, they drop off line and are no longer available. Summer orientation dates are the 3rd and 4th week of May (M-F, no weekends) and the fall orientation dates are throughout all of June (M-F, no weekends).

Oh ok. Thanks!

That brings me to another question though… I think somewhere in the orientation pamphlet, it said that we were to bring our final transcripts (if they weren’t automatically mailed to them), and our AP/IB scores so we knew which classes we tested out of. But, we never find out our IB scores until early or mid July, so how does that work?

The dates that are currently posted are primarily in June. None after that, but I’ve heard that as the earlier ones fill up, they open new ones. Someone else can probably clarify, or you could call the school.

DNerd,

In most cases, your school will send the transcript to whatever school you are attending. I remember senior year, they made us fill out a form asking where to send our final transcript. If your school doesn’t have you do this, I’d ask your guidance counselor or whoever is responsible for transcripts. If they send it, you don’t have to worry about it though.

As for AP scores, I did summer session, so I didn’t know my scores either. Ultimately, you will pick your classes with the advice of an adviser. You know which AP tests you took, so you tell that to your adviser, and they’ll tell you which classes not to take. Obviously, when you fill out your AP test forms, have the scores sent to FSU, and FSU will have all of your scores by the end of June. Just an FYI, FSU receives the scores before you, so you can check My Grades in blackboard, and they will show up as “Spring 2010” grades for you.

Great hint Matt-- thanks!

That’s great news. Thanks Matt!

Does anybody know how much the orientation fee is?

$90 for you and $60 per additional family member, IIRC.

Thanks Dnerd
