Can this happen?

I was looking at the curves of the SATs, and found that the Jan SAT must have been the easiest for all sections across all testing dates.

I received CR 700 with 5wrong and 1omit, W 720 with 2wrong and essay of 8, and M 650 with 7wrong.

Am I just unlucky that I happened to take the test on the day that had the worst curves?

That curve isn’t the worst, and the January SAT is not the “easiest” test. Study and retake it if you are not satisfied with your score; there is no “luck” involved here. Colleges aren’t going to reject you because you were a few points off, and if you are applying to a college that would, your score just isn’t competitive enough for that particular school.

The curve for the Jan. SAT wasn’t terribly off. The CR was a bit harsher, but instead Writing was a bit more lenient and Math was about the same as always. While the curve may differ from month to month, it’s not by much, and January was no exception.

An easier curve usually correlates to an easier test, so it all balances out:)
