January SAT Curve Predictions??

Does anyone have any opinions on how the curving is going to be...I am just hoping the curve is normal/lenient. Is there any historical data that suggests what Jan is going to be. I have heard many times that Oct. and Nov. are predictable, but how about January?

Here’s the historical data, but I wouldn’t advise making much of it…

https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.erikthered.com%2Ftutor%2FSAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

I hope the curve isn’t as tough as it was 2 years ago :o

Unfortunately, nobody knows. It is an unknown variable you cannot control, whereas you can only control how prepared you are. Use your energy to focus on preparation. =)

Honestly, I feel that there isn’t a point to predicting curves. SAT curves are notoriously UNpredictable (if they weren’t, then everyone would take the easiest curve). So I would worry only about what you can control, not what the test makers decide to do.

lol :).

My guidance counselor was going classroom to classroom giving some long-winded rant about how we should all take the SAT in June because “your scores are normed according to how others do” and since all the “dumb” seniors take the SAT in June - “dumb” as in seniors who procrastinated the SAT - there would be an easier curve in June …

I was about to correct him, but I refrained from doing so, lest I make too big a fool out of him. He is, after all, going to have to write me a college rec sooner or later …
