Can transfer students change college/major or double major?

I got admitted by Cal's College of Natural Resources with Molecular Environmental Biology as my major. I was dumb enough to not look up that major before sending out my application because I was almost certain that I would be going to Davis with NPB major. But I am now more incline to the idea of going to Cal because the finencial aids that Cal and Davis offered me are about the same, and if I choose Berkeley I can also share room with two of my very close friends who are both going to Cal this fall (so the overall cost to attend Cal is cheaper than to go to Davis).
My problem is that after looking online, I am worried that MEB would not be a good choice for me (I want to do neorobio for my grad study) so I am thinking about applying for change of college into the College of Letters Science or do a double major, but I don't know if transfer student can still do that..Can anyone please help me out, Thanks!!

bump…

You can double. I know this because I have checked with the CAL people. During your first semester you just petition for a double major. You should have already been working on lower div requirements for this.

As far as changing, I don’t know . . . Good luck!

thanks borntogrow. Can I do double major in different colleges (one major in the college of natural resources and another one in the college of letters science)?

Yeah but there are obstacles. There school of letters and science isn’t easy to get into. Like borntogrow said, petition it. Not to mention, if you’re not prepared you will most likely not graduate on time.

Thanks Imendoza! I think I will have to work extra extra hard…:)

since someone has already ask, as a transfer, is petitioning to change major easier or to double major easier?
