Specifically International transfer students. My plan is to study first at a US community college and then transfer to a larger 4-year liberal arts university. But it's pretty crucial that the universities I apply for transfer to will offer scholarships because neither my family nor I can afford much. Are there many scholarships offered to transfer students, much less INTERNATIONAL transfer students? (I am Canadian.)

Thanks!

The answer varies so wildly that it’s impossible to say unless you name specific schools. Find some schools you’re interested in and check their websites.

Sorry, I guess I should’ve been more specific. I just meant in general do colleges that offer financial aid to its transfer students only do so if they are also US citizens?

I mean I think in general most scholarships and financial aid packages are offered to incoming freshmen and transfer students are mostly left to their own devices.

Can someone name some top-tier schools that will offer financial aid to its transfer students? Maybe even Ivy league?

While financial aid for transfer students is scarce due the preferential allocation statuses of incoming, talented freshman, schools with large endowments are obviously more likely to extend compelling aid offers. I know Harvard has a policy that makes sure every student is able to attend regardless of their financial situation, and you will find similarly generous offers from schools such as Princeton and Cornell if you are accepted.
