Can W&M get boring?

I'm trying to decide between Boston College and W&M right now. My bro goes to BC and he always seems to be having a blast going into Boston and such, and the atmosphre at BC is pretty partyish. I'm just worried that W&M is such a small school with no big city thats easy to get to nearby I'll end up getting bored. I live in D.C. so I'm used to always having tons of stuff going on.

If you don't like what's there and you have a car, you can scoot yourself out to where the fun is.

Are freshmen allowed to have cars oncampus?

no, I believe you can't bring a car on campus until junior year.

well... i live in williamsburg so here's my 2 cents... ok there's always colonial williamsburg (affectionately known as cw) - i'm definitely not into the whole touring the buildings, but merchants square is always a fun place to just hang out... there is williamsburg's one 7-screen movie theater (about 5 minutes off-campus by car) and they are supposed to be building a bigger theater soon (about 8 minutes off-campus)... in the summer-- there's always busch gardens or water country, but yea- that gets old after awhile... bowling alley (10 mins off-campus) i completely agree with junebug - there's enough stuff to do in the 'burg, but with a car there's tons more stuff to do in richmond and va beach. the nice thing about it is you're an hour from the beach and a couple of hours from the mountains. williamsburg is pretty much what you make of it; you can take advantage of its unique historical attractions or just enjoy them temporarily and find more fun elsewhere. hope that helps.

On any college campus there are all kinds of people who will be doing all kinds of things at any given time. W&M is no exception.

They are supposed to be building a new shopping center/mall place that's more student friendly.

Cars are only allowed for Jrs and Srs, unless you work a certain amount and need it to get there or something. If you demonstrate the need for a car you can have one. Also if you do some sports you can have a car (including some club sports, like crew)

I think it also depends upon what kind of college you are going to in general. William and Mary is small and Williamsburg isn't a college town first; it's a historical landmark. There's enough to do there, but if you want a bigger school and the related atmosphere, then perhaps William and Mary isn't the best place for you.
