Would not being able to tag the current username properly be a valid complaint?
In general I think the answer is no. However, I know of at least one user that did. I’m not sure why she was allowed to do so (or how–probably by a moderator. ) Ask a moderator, such as @MaineLonghorn or @skieurope.

Thanks everyone. I didn’t realize people couldn’t properly tag me. Now I understand why I’m missing posts directed to me. Sadly, I don’t think an average user is going to know how to tag me if it requires what you said, @skieurope. I’m surprised the system allowed me to create a username that would not tag properly. I’m stuck, I guess. I can live with it. 
@“jesse’sgirl” Although not ideal, you can always type in your username in the search box above to bring up the posts in which you were tagged.
