A few pretty significant things happened in the past month. An organization I helped start worked with 3-4 nationally renowned organizations and I would like to inform certain schools of the same.
Sure, why not? Send it in the form of a one paragraph email. There’s no cardinal sin you’d be committing. The real question is will it help or not – but that’s unanswerable.
I agree, go ahead and send, but include how your efforts caused this to happen. Also, if one of those is your top choice, let them know (do not tell all 3 that).
@bopper how exactly should I tell them that they’re my top choice? Should I just blatantly say, “You’re my top choice and that’s why I’m sending you this email”?
“I am still highly interested in attending XYZ U. and would like to let you know about some significant events that have been happening over the past couple of months. <more about=”" organization="" i="" helped="" start="" worked="" with="" 3-4="" nationally="" renowned="" organizations=""> I also wanted to let you know that XYZ University continues to be my top choice and I would attend if admitted. The ABC program appeals to me because blah blah blah. I also have been reading about Prof X and am interested in his/her research on X. (or whatever college specific info you can add).
But only say you are a top choice to one of the schools.
But also continue to look at the schools you HAVE been admitted to and start figuring out which of those interests you.
