The applications are in and all the deadlines have been final, okay? We can no longer worry about whether we get in or not. Now, all I can say is that I have seen some amazing stats on here, people all worried and shaken up that they won't get into this school. Let's realize that the admissions officers are people and understand that not everyone is trying to be the perfect person on a sheet of paper. To show who you are... that's what the essay is for. I wish we could sticky this topic for the future Commodores.

Everything is done. No one on here can tell you if you're going to get in this school or not. Some people may have the stats and their essay wasn't "top 20 school" worthy or maybe their essay didn't compensate for low stats.

Stop worrying people! The last thing we can do is find some Vandy alumni who can schedule interviews to boost our chances of getting into this school. This is coming from someone with a 25 on the ACT. While I am not a Valedictorian or Saludatorian, I am in the top 5% of my class of 400+ people. I see weakness in myself, but honest to God, you people have no clear weaknesses.

The people on this board, us CC'ers, I think we are the elite applicants who get into these top schools. This board has a drive for success and to be a perfectionist. While we may not have 2400's on the SAT, we compensate for oustanding academic achievements, you know?

So, I beg of you all not to read this as a rant, but as tough love. Just do your best in school, do your best on your app, if you really want to go to the school show passion in your essay... I even suggest having 2 essays, one for the safety schools and one for Vanderbilt, along with one for the scholarships. Make sure you show your passion for the school. Work hard. I worked two weeks on my essay, and I may say it is near-perfect, in my honest opinion.

So, let's wait for our results, keep our heads up, and pray that we will be adding ourselves to the Class of 2013 Facebook Group!

I want this board to stop with the chance threads! The other boards can eat feces. Kinda harsh, but honestly, this is the Vanderbilt board--we are trendsetters.

SAT: 2250

I no my ECs are weak, but I hope they see through it.

Absolutely agree with you there. I almost never post here, but when I read this thread, I just had to respond. I applied RD in October and have been nervously/eagerly waiting to hear back. But there's nothing I can do about it now. And I have so many other things to focus on, like graduating and work. So props and encouragement to all of you who are in the same boat.

What bothers you about chances threads? They are all clearly marked "chance threads" (sometimes in creative ways), so if you don't care to read them, then don't click on them. Tons of the CC traffic comes from the threads, and no matter how much you plead for chance threads to stop, they aren't going to. Way to waste forum space with a useless thread.

By the way, I find it interesting to note that I see almost as many "stop chance threads" as I do regular chance threads. Ironic, it is.

you're just trying to convince yourselves that if you don't have a perfect SAT you still have a chance. Stop trying, you have no chance without a perfect SAT.

The threads don't bother me. It's the people thinking that they can predict someone's chances of getting accepted into a school. Just take the chance to apply. If you really want to go to the school and you do oustanding things, you're likely to get in.

You made no note of that in your original post, it was all about chance threads. Besides, that is not logical whatsoever. So, your fine with people posting chance threads, but it bothers you when people chance them? OK, great plan, we'll keep allowing them to make chance threads and no one will reply. Excellent advice.

Foreman, seriously, your ideas are totally radical. You're rude and condescending to EVERYONE on the forums, and you think you actually know what you're talking about all the time. Step off your high horse, you're making everyone lose respect for you. I hope your bitter nature doesn't show in your essay or interviews.. you'll end up at community college with your personality.

I know what you're talking about when you said condescending. I know it was, and I don't feel bad about what I said when that's what I felt. I won't respond the post that you responded to since that would only start an argument. But, I meant what I said in the topic, and I will say it again if necessary (or unneccesary).
