Can we start talking about the APES FRQ? Are we past the curfew time?

^Full credit for part 1

Part 2 you got the exact same answers as I did…my friend said he didn’t think 7 years was right for part b-iii…

Part 3, good, maybe half off for part d and I don’t know about part c

Part 4…idk about 4aiv, 4b – not sure if this is an “environmental advantage,” not sure about part c, not really economic advantage…everything else looks fine

Can somebody look at some of mine:

3
c) I put drip irrigation and switching to crops that don’t need much water (like cotton…then I mentioned soybeans…FAIL)
d) something about water from the glacier melting faster so faster water flow for while, then something about water evaporating faster, especially in dams where the water is still and surface area of the water is large lol
e) I said something about drop in dissolved oxygen levels due to global warming would be bad for fish, then said something wrong like global warming promotes eutrophication LOL

4a)
iv. I talked about resistance in the market of GM crops, especially by the European Union because of ethical and health concerns….
b) advantage: crops can be engineered so they don’t need pesticide/herbicide/fertilizers, which pollute the environment, disadvantage: the genes of the crops can spread and “pollute” into the environment through sex with wild varieties or something
c) advantage: higher yields and can increase income of farmers; disadvantage: poorer farmers without access to this technology will be put out of work or have lowered incomes…lol yeah I fail
d) crop rotation to cycle nutrients and no till farming to reduce soil erosion
e) less pollution from less transportation, I said it creates local jobs? Then some huge BS like it will reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil which we spend lots of money on cause it will reduce transportation costs lol

Hmm…so 9 years and 800 cows are out of range do you think?

this is probably an absolutely ■■■■■■■■ and paranoid question, but for 2c part ii where it says you MAY round your answer to the nearest thousand, does it mean you have to? i didn’t round my answer haha

im pretty sure that budd was wrong because the nitrogen source for photochemical smoog is from airborne nitrogen i.e. smoke stacks and such, not fertilizers…

i thought the math was a little crazy for the cow question, especially having to do the whole calculation out, i was expecting easier numbers to work with.

at first i rounded and got 730 for the second part, when i multiplied back i got 731…

I put “about 730 cows” because I really didn’t wanna keep calculating it. Sigh…

1) BS…I probably got 2-4 points…
2) b-d was ok, about 7 points I guess.
3) Expecting 8-10 points
4) expecting 6-9 points
