So you have to submit one same essay to all colleges and you can add additionally?</p>
<p>No, you need to submit at least one application, to be able to create another version. So, after you have submitted your first application which can be to one or more colleges (same essay) then you can create up to 10 versions to submit to others colleges (up to 20).</p>
<p>After logging to common application click “instructions” and then " application versions" for the steps to create an alternate version.</p>

So I can submit additional version for 2 colleges out of all 5 I’m applying?</p>
