can we submit different essays for different schools?

Hi I just had a quick question..
For the common application can we submit different essays for different schools?
or can you only submit one essay for all schools?
If you could answer it, it would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much!

From what I understood, you can try that with versions or something like that. You need to submit your application with the first set of essays and then start charging it.

Sorry, but I’m still kind of confused.
So you have to submit one same essay to all colleges and you can add additionally?

No, you need to submit at least one application, to be able to create another version. So, after you have submitted your first application which can be to one or more colleges (same essay) then you can create up to 10 versions to submit to others colleges (up to 20).

After logging to common application click “instructions” and then " application versions" for the steps to create an alternate version.

Ahh… Okay thanks!
But to make sure, you don’t have to have an additional version for all colleges right?
So I can submit additional version for 2 colleges out of all 5 I’m applying?

Thanks so much!
