Can you Appeal a Decision by BU?

I was rejected by Boston University College of Arts and Science but it is my first choice. Do you know if there is anyway to appeal? Do they even do appeal.? Any suggestions if they do allow appeals. Thanks guys

I'm 99% sure you can--you should call and post your findings :).

How does one appeal a decision? I have never heard of this before.

Is this a known process? Does it exist at every school?

Even if you do, is it really worth the effort? Would Adcoms take a fresh look at your applic simply because you appeal? I mean, if they do, that could create a huge amount of workload for Adcoms......and their decisions would not weigh much at all.

I am keen to know if this has ever been done before. It would be nice if one of the students who works in BU Admissions (I think on either the BUvsNYU or BU Housing thread) might be able to answer.

Good luck to you in this endeavor. Do let us know your action plan once you get some advice from the Senior BU members on BU threads.

I'm appealing to American University.. I'll let you all know the outcome. I'm pretty much in the dark as most people are when they appeal because there's no specific process. I'm going to expect that this will not do anything that way if it does (very slight chance) I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Lets say they reject me as a transfer student...they make decisions before sending spring grades. Then I do REALLY well this semester so I send my updated transcript with a cover letter explaining how I LOVE BU--they re-review my application and change their decision. Ta-da.

I'm guessing it'll actually go like that too.

so is anybody actually appealing?

i'm appealing to Ga Tech... I mean, what will it hurt? The worst is they can say no. I got accepted to my second choice today, but GT is my #1...so maybe this will work. I will let everyone know.

you can appeal guys. But they said you must have new ACADEMIC info. They really stressed the word ACADEMIC info. and if you don't provide new ACADEMIC info, they will not even look at your letter basically. ahahha good luck. no due date, but asap. It mite come back AFTER may 1st. this is full of crap. ahah good luck all of you. i sent mine in

thanks for finding out!

Hi, I just have been rejected to BU arts and sciences. I saw before you had posted about appealing your application and I was considering doing the same because it has ben my dream school for years. I was wondering how that hole process went for you and if you could share you insight about it all with me please. It would be very much appreciated.

My daughter was rejected by BU school of management. I am doubt whether BU may make a mistake . I also want to know how to appeal. I talked to different people and everyone doesn’t believe the result. My daughter has SAT score of 2200 and GPA 3.5. Her classmate has SAT 1750 and GPA 3.2 get accepted.
