Who else here checks the daily papers of their dream schools on the off-chance that they publish some news about transfer admissions?

I was sad to see that their reading period has begun at Yale, but it will probably save me some time lurking around YaleDailyNews.com

plenty here do, though more likely it's to just build a deeper understanding of the prospective school(s)

I used to read the Harvard Crimson like it was the bible....until march 20th when my dreams were crushed. :(

Yeah, I can sympathize. I would recommend reading a few of the biting editorials and columns published in The Crimson a few days later. They really skewer the admissions department for its misguided choices.

Lol Trixee.

I go out of my way to avoid anything related to the school of my dreams. I don't even watch Animal House or read The Review anymore. I completely have blocked it out of my mind because if I did what you're doing, I would be going insane. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

HULK SMASH!

In all seriousness, I don't do anything because I don't want to think about my likely rejection or the proudest day of my life.

Probably a smart move. But I feel better during my day if I can dream about being elsewhere for part of it, so I see no harm.

I read the YDN like it is my own schools paper. It makes me feel that much more connected. It feels good to know that Im not alone.

....

I watched every single Gilmore Girls episode that dealt with Rory going off to Yale.

Twice.

Yes I'm a guy.

Well it looks like I've been outdone. Bravo, undisclosed. Quick survey. How many other school dalies' websites do you all regularly visit?

the daily gazette from swarthmore is my home page when i open up mozilla. i check it several times a day and post comments regularly.

i also read the phoenix often. and, i admit it, the daily jolt a few times a week.
and i read the students blogs linked to the admissions page. and i've friended a bunch of swarthmore students on facebook who i find to be particularly cool. and i've looked at all their similarly cool facebook groups and wished i could join them.

but i don't stalk anybody, honest!! i'm just a swarthmore student in spirit, one that hasn't actually been accepted to the school (and may never be...).

i wanna go there so bad!!!!! :(

And so goes the tale of dedicated transfers, our idiosyncrasies make us that much more unique...

Yeah I may have immersed myself too much in my obsession with Harvard. I even spent a week there staying in my friend's dorm meeting profs, advisors, and students....Talk about heartbreaking. I even went on a date with this hot Harvard Crew guy while I was there. :(

Does Animal House take place at Yale?

It's based on Dartmouth, Trixie.

Yes, Do you think Animal House could ever happen at Yale? There will never be a good movie about Yale!

aww...
poor Trixee. :(

better question.. do i WANT to compete with your obsession?
i think not.
especially since i've not the energy to compete with anyone in any matter!
god this process is exhausting.

This is totally irrelevant, but transfurious, your college confidential name is pure genius. It makes me smile and I just had to let you know that :).

Thanks, fouxdufafa?

In other news, the YDN released a spate of new articles. Still waiting on the one where they release the number of transfer admits...
