So my family is planning to do a tour of a bunch of UCs pretty soon but something came up and the original tour reservations do not match up with new schedule. Unfortunately, on a couple campuses, the days we will be in that town have full tours. My question is if anyone has had any luck going on an admissions tour unannounced. Thanks!

It depends on the school. We’ve joined some tours that were full and just tagged along.

Yes, at some schools you could probably just show up and attach yourself to the tour as it gets going. At UC Santa Cruz, because the admissions office is at the bottom of the hill and the tour starts at the top, they pile you onto a shuttle bus and take you up to the top of the hill to start the tour. If there’s no room on the bus, you’re not going on the tour.

At the tours I went on at UC Davis and UCSD, anyone could have just tagged along.
