Yeah since bizecon is BA and math/econ is BS, can you double major in the two?

"With few exceptions, double majors in the same department are unacceptable. Students must designate one of the two majors as the primary major. No more than 5 upper division courses may be common to both majors."

Math/econ and bizecon have a lot of courses in common, but I think they have exactly 5 UD courses in common. Econ 101 is considered a prereq course in bizecon, while it is a required UD course in math/econ. So math/econ has 5 UD econ courses (if econ 101 is excluded) that can be used to satisfy bizecon's econ reqs.

So does anyone know if you can double major in the two?

^^^ I was also considering this, but am thinking it is better to go bus/econ w/ minor in accounting rather than with the actuarial plan (its just so much work)!

Also, does anyone have the upper/lower division course requirements for business econ (pre-bus econ?)

But the thing is, I would like some math emphasis on econ related field. Also getting a BA (bizecon) and BS (applied math) with accounting minor seems cool to me. I don’t think it is worth the hassle to minor in math when you only have to take 2 additional math and 3 additional stats courses to get a BS in applied math.

Although I have heard a lot about bizecon, I haven’t heard much about the applied math at UCLA. Can anyone tell me what it is like in terms of rigor, professors, classmates, etc…?

I am a freshman applicant, but already done with most of my lower divison requirements so I will have no trouble in 3 years or so even if I double major. Is this route of double majoring worth it?

it reallyy depends wat you wanna do when you graduate…im currentlyy a math/econ major but i wanna go into finance but the problem is that i have taken more math and programmin classes…but if i were a bus econ major it would be much helpful for me…so look at what you wanna do when u graduate and from there you can think about what you can double major in that will be helpful for u…
