<p>Knowing just how low a score still falls in the 99th percentile in a state might give some indication of what the cutoff may be this year. Then, if it looks likely that my child and our cousin will make National Merit semifinalist, we are going to take a summer trip to visit several colleges that offer great scholarships to NMFs, in the hopes that the kids will fall in love with one of those colleges, get a scholarship, and save us a bunch of money. That’s the method in my madness! If I posted this in the wrong place, though, I’m sorry.</p>
