Yes. It’s not a large number, but CSOM does take some external transfers. Most are incoming sophomores. A few are incoming juniors.
@gobosox whats the acceptance rate like?
@as1799 I do not know how helpful this will be, but I remember that on my tour they said very few people transfer to CSOM from any of the other 3 schools. They said that they look at whether or not you would have gotten in when you first applied. If you are asking this because you want to apply to arts and sciences and then transfer to CSOM becuase you know it is harder to get into CSOM, then I would not recommend it. But you should not just listen me; you should ask an adcom if you want actual numbers.
@1zogden1 You are correct with respect to internal transfers. This poster is referring to external transfers (those from outside of BC, not from MCAS, etc.). I don’t know what the acceptance rate is for external transfers currently. I know in the past the perception has been that it’s easier to get in as an external transfer than in regular decision, but I don’t know if that perception is accurate.
yes, it can be done, bed space available. A few years back, CSOM had a much higher yield of Frosh, so it took zero transfers that spring.
Not sure about the acceptance rate, but I have 2 friends that externally transferred to CSOM. As @1zogden1 mentioned, if you are interested in business, you should apply to CSOM. What’a the point of going to a school if you aren’t studying what you want?
