Can you help me?

I am on the waitlist at UVA, but I still want to go. I finished writing a letter as a response to the waitlist letter. If you're interested in reading it and give me your honest opinion, let me know. Thanks in advance.

just curious what were your stats? (gpa, sat, class rank, ec's etc..)

i'll read it

ill read it too

3.8, 25/275ish, in-state, 2070, URM

expecttheimpossible6 >> did you get my reply?
and what does URM stand for?

URM stands for underrepresented minority.

Lala: Yeah, I got your reply. Thanks.

in the waitlist FAQ they sent us, they really made it sound as if continuing to contact them is useless unless you have updated awards/honors, but im seeing that several fellow waitlisters are replying to the letter with some sort of personal statement, so is that the best route to take? if so, what exactly would one say to let them know uva is his top choice? thanks

Considering they rec'd 16,000 apps for 3,000 spots... to say it was fiercely competitive would be an understatement. I hope your guidance counselor warned you. If you weren't in the top of the top 5% of your class I doubt you really stood a chance. That's not your fault.

The best plan now is to go to your fallback school for a year, and do really well. If you don't like it, transfer.

Keep your head up. It'll all work out in the end.

Bump....anyone?
