prompt: what are your thoughts on the idea that television has turned out to isolate people instead of bringing them together?

Although people tend to perceive that television breaks a human bonding, it actually strengthens their relationships by showing the humane and affectionate sides of humanity. Moreover, television renders us an opportunity
to unite and sympathize with each other by showing heartwarming scenes and informing the viewers of important information. Undoubtedly, television channels like Food channel and sports channel remind us the importance of human relationship in a busy modern life.

First, televisions bombard us with information that can be very useful to maintain a strong relationship. Food programs often show us recipes of specialties that we might have not known or did not dare to cook. Easy step-by-step procedures and visualization of cooking enhances confidence of many people who were hesitant to cook. After this learning process, many viewers will cook special dishes they saw from the television, ultimately strengthening relationship with their loved ones. Most people will appreciate a cook's efforts and time to cook a delicious food rather than to buy any other dine-in food. Thus, food programs help people to appreciate each other by informing them how to make a specialty without fear.

Like Food channels, sports channel brings people together by giving them a chance to have a same motivation and ideas. People will find themselves much more closer after they had rooted for a particular soccer team or a baseball player. For example, 2008 Beijing Olympics united people to cheer for their own countries to win medals and to do their best. Not only this global celebration connected people from a country, it also united people around the world with their love for sports. Sports channels offer healthy entertainment that everyone can enjoy. Without a doubt, television helps people to absorb themselves in sports and supporting teams. Without television, we will not be able to enjoy watching sports so readily as we do now.

Thus, television unites people to find similarities in each other. By watching television, people can understand each other better by sharing their opinions about the program and educating them of skills or talents that can be necessary to initiate a relationship and to maintain long-lasting relationship. We should appreciate the power of television that can bring people together without the restriction of time and place.
