I was wondering if it was possible to petition my rejection to tufts. is that possible?

Unless you have some material mistake in your file, what basis should they consider your appeal? Most privates (Tufts included) say “all decisions final”.

Time to move on.

I am constantly amazed by the enduring popularity of the idea that you can appeal a college’s admissions decision.

As T26 said, if your credentials didn’t gain you admission the first time around, you’d have to add something completely spectacular to get a different answer on appeal.

Kids on CC frequently say something like, “If I tell them how much I want to go there…” That’s a waste of everybody’s time. Think about it: Tufts has already filled its entering class with students who really want to go there. So have Harvard and Vanderbilt and Northwestern and Stanford.

And Tufts, in particular, has already made it known on CC that they anticipate taking very few, if any, students from the wait list. (See the first post here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tufts-university/899947-waitlisted-tufts.html.) I can’t see why they’d be motivated to reverse an admissions decision.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I really do believe this idea is a complete non-starter.
